Hotels in Newcastle – How To Recognize The Best

Newcastle has been through something of a transformation in the last 10 years and it’s these days the main centre for tourism along with business in the north east of Britain. Millions of pounds of investment have revitalized the city centre making it a desirable place to live and work and helped to create 1000s of new job opportunities. There are many reasons to go to Newcastle and it has been voted the UK’s favourite city break for four consecutive years in The Guardian/Observer travel awards. Newcastle has a wide range of wonderful attractions for all the family and a weekend defintely won’t be enough to explore all of them. It is well-known that the north east is a hotbed of sporting zeal and seeing that Newcastle United are back in the Premier league there are sure to be a huge number of soccer fans from around the country making the trip to St James’s Park. The Great North Run which is organised annually is another event that draws in a huge number of participants and spectators and raises tens of millions for charity. Shopping in Newcastle is something of a hobby for its residents and it’s not really hard to discover why. The MetroCentre is the largest shopping centre in Europe and it is all too easy to spend a weekend there browsing through the many designer stores it offers. With the Newcastle Quayside Market starting in July 2010 as well as the already established Grainger market, Jesmond market and the Farmers & Country marketplace you’re hard pressed not to pick up a good deal somewhere. Newcastle is well known across the country because of its nightlife and has something to offer everyone to guarantee an excellent night out. The Quayside and the Bigg market appeal to a lively, young crowd and for the slightly more mature you will discover a large number of traditional pubs, theatres along with excellent dining places. And needless to say no visit to Newcastle would be complete without sampling the famous Newcastle Brown Ale at least one time. As you would anticipate from a modern and dynamic city there’s a wonderful selection of hotels in Newcastle from which to choose. From B&B’s to five star hotels there’s accommodation to match each and every pocket and I can personally recommend the Rosebery Hotel in Jesmond as a terrific place to stay.
